Foundations and What Follows

December 15, 2021 - February 9, 2022

This winter the University Gallery is chalk full of student artwork. Drawing, Painting, Design, Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, Glass, and New Media are all included, with works from both introductory courses and upper level students.

This exhibition is unique in that not all of the students exhibited are art majors, since many of the first year courses can be taken without any art prerequisites. The purpose of the foundations courses is to prepare visual art students for a seamless transition into higher-level course work.

The work included in this student exhibition is chosen by the program's current Art faculty. They gathered the best student work to honor these examples of excellence and to serve as inspiration for future and current art students.

Join us for an opening reception on Wednesday, December 15 from 2 - 4pm. Light refreshments will be served.
