Jonna McKone: Slow Drift
Slow Drift is a long-term photography project examining subtle links between climate change, identity, and colonial legacy in Maryland’s former tobacco economies and plantations. Using color analog and experimental processes, it documents former plantations, historic Black communities, and surrounding landscapes and towns, conveying time through changing landscapes, built environments, vegetation, objects, and intergenerational personal stories.
David Smith: The Development of Low-Fire Wood Firing Techniques, and the Making of Monsters
The Development of Low-Fire Wood Firing Techniques, and the Making of Monsters is a post-sabbatical exhibition by Salisbury-based artist and faculty David Smith. His focus began on developing glazes and firing schedules for low-fire wood firings nearing 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a relatively un-explored process in the world of contemporary ceramics and pottery.
